Pre-Build
-
Slab Edge Insulation Inspection
Our team verifies that slab edge insulation is correctly installed and positioned to maximize energy efficiency and meet code requirements.
-
HVAC Design
Our expert HVAC designers provide the most optimal and cost effective designs based on your project needs. We can provide a basic Manual J for code compliance or a more comprehensive HVAC design service encompassing Manual J, D and S calculations, along with 3D renderings for duct installation.
-
Slab On Grade Inspection
This inspection is conducted after under-slab utilities are completed, footings dug, rebar is installed, and formwork is in place. It includes a review of forms, footings, vapor barriers, and utilities to ensure they meet engineered plans for proper location, depth, and thickness. The inspection also verifies form squareness, as well as rebar size and placement. By identifying potential layout or installation issues before concrete placement, this service allows for early corrections and helps minimize costly rework.
-
Framing Inspections
We Inspect the framing for items such as hold-downs, breakaway clips, trusses, blocking and confirm that framing matches the plans and engineering documents. Inspectors also check for damage or improper alterations caused by other trades, such as cut I-joists, cut plates, or damaged trusses. Additionally, we check for proper fire blocking and draft stopping.
-
House Wrap Inspections
This inspection should be completed after the house wrap, windows, doors, and most wall penetrations are installed, but before veneer or siding is applied. The Housewrap & Flashing Inspection is a visual inspection of the home’s above-grade drainage plane. It includes a ground-level review of the house wrap and flashing installation. The house wrap will be checked to ensure it is properly secured, lapped, and taped. Flashing will be inspected around penetrations, windows, doors, and porch or patio intersections. Some flashing systems may be outside the scope of this inspection due to installation timing or limited roof visibility. A detailed report of any issues found will be sent to builder.
Mid-Build
-
Air Sealing
Our air sealing service helps builders deliver code-compliant, energy-efficient homes by targeting common leakage points that affect performance and durability. We seal exterior and garage wall plates, ductwork, wires, plumbing, blank chases, and key transitions at windows, doors, garages, and story bands. We also seal unnecessary holes and gaps in sheathing to support blower door targets, HERS requirements, and overall build quality. We do not seal penetrations made by other trades. They drill it, they fill it.
-
Energy Code Compliance Testing
This service includes blower door and duct leakage testing to verify energy code compliance. Testing is performed at rough or near-final stage after HVAC trim is installed and all supply boots and returns are sealed to drywall. This service also includes providing and installing the required code compliance sticker.
-
Drain Cam Inspections
Our DrainCam service consists of a visual inspection inside the sewer line from a cleanout to the sewer connection whenever that location can be reached. The inspection uses a specially designed waterproof camera on a rigid push cable that can traverse multiple plumbing bends in one run to check for any blockages, damage or other issues.
-
HERS Ratings
The HERS (Home Energy Rating System) Rating service is performed in two separate on site inspection visits. Inspection one is the pre drywall inspection, which will occur after insulation and prior to the installation of drywall. The purpose of this inspection is to document and verify components of the buildings thermal envelope. Information collected during this visit will be used to validate compliance with applicable energy efficiency standards and to support the final HERS rating calculation.Trip two is the final HERS inspection. This inspection will include blower door and duct leakage performance testing and final verification of installed systems, lighting, appliances and model numbers. All collected data will be incorporated in the final HERS rating analysis and report.
